What Is The Global Orphan Project?
Did you know in some countries, the situation is so dire that parents are often faced with the decision to give up their own children to offer them a chance at a better life?
Unfortunately, it’s a common occurrence in a lot of places. Mike and Beth saw this happening and decided to make a difference in the lives of these children. After all, today’s children are tomorrow’s future.
So, they started the Global Orphan Project. One of the most amazing features of this program is the Founders’ Circle, which covers ALL the administrative costs associated with operating the organization.
In other words, all the money generous donors provide for the care of the children goes for exactly that and not to any overhead costs.
Above And Beyond Simple Handouts
What truly resonated with us is that the Global Orphan Project does so much more than just give simple handouts to the kids it helps. Instead, the organization goes above and beyond to rebuild lives.
They help establish viable businesses where parents can make a living wage and not have to make the difficult decision to give their children up.
In addition, older orphaned children who will soon age out of care can take advantage of these jobs to learn a trade and become self-sustaining. We’re so proud to say that one of these businesses manufactures all our Jericho Home Improvements uniforms.
We saw how great the efforts of the Global Orphan Project are and felt strongly compelled to work with the organization to help change lives for the better.

Giving Back The Jericho Way
After hearing Mike and Beth’s story, we asked how Jericho Home Improvements could contribute our own efforts to the organization. We wanted to truly make an impact in the lives of those who could benefit the most.
So, we asked for details on various aspects of the organization we could fully support. That’s when we learned about the Mama Project.
You see, one of the most important roles in the Global Orphan Project is being a “mama” to the orphans. Because this person is so essential, only one is assigned to every ten children, ensuring they get enough attention and care.
We immediately felt drawn to supporting these individuals in their journey to provide for these children. So, we proudly fund the ENTIRE Mama Project. With almost 40 mamas in all locations, we’re thrilled to say we back each and every one.
In addition to the Mama Project, we also help support educational efforts for orphaned and abandoned children through the Global Orphan Project.
Another common reason for parents abandoning their children is an inability to provide an education. Strangely enough, their educational opportunities in an orphanage increase.
To help keep families together, we provide all the funding for schools in four different villages. This helps ensure the education of 1,200 students.
